by Arthur from Durham NC USA
Review: The FAR/AIM is a reference book indispensable to pilots. The current edition appears to be complete and there is nothing much to say about it, similar to a directory or other compilations of factual material. The price is reasonable, in fact somewhat lower (by about $3.00) than what I paid for my 2001 edition 10 years ago at my FBO supply counter.

Will not buy this publication of AIM/FAR's thru ASA again. by Rosary from Lafayette LA USA
Cons: the layout was difficult to search Review: FAR/AIM published by ASA was hard to read. I prefer the publication produced by Jeppesen. The subtitles were easier to locate in Jeppesen; they were a struggle in the ASA publication. I will not buy that one again because I could not find what I was searching for until I found the numbered location in the the out of date Jeppensen that I had on my shelf.

Must Read Publication For Pilots by Michael Harwood, CFI from Wildwood FL USA
Pros: Easy to locate subject matter by index Cons: It would be nice to have a FAR cross index to the AIM in footnotes or the margins Review: This publication has always been a must for pilots and instructors. The AIM portion of the book has been improved the most over the years with topic organization and color graphics.

I buy this version of FAR/AIM annually - for 11 yrs now. by A Customer from Newberg OR USA
Pros: organization, indices, and table of contents for each chapter Review: The index makes this by far the easiest to read, and find particular regulations quickly.
As a flight instructor, I am also impressed by the listing at the front of the book of suggested FAR's and AIM material to study in preparation for various pilot ratings and licenses.
Keep up the excellent work!

Confusing but necessary by Robert Walsh from Johnstown NY USA
Pros: Needed to comply with FAA Reg's Cons: Too Big and too much Review: The books meet all expectations for a burucratic publication and is informative but one doesn't wonder why it's so easy to go afoul of the law with so much to try and remember.

2008 ASA FAR/AIM - I've got one - why don't you? by Kevin from Rollingstone MN USA
Pros: looks sharp, easily held in one hand - good spelling - good index! Cons: dry reading - can you spice it up? Add some intrigue or mystery? Review: Of the many thousands of dollars I have spent in my relatively undisciplined and unorganized aviation training - the 2008 FAR/AIM from ASA gives a very big bang for the buck. grin.

Required Reading by Christina from White Plains NY USA
Pros: What can I say, other than it contains a lot of information. Cons: somewhat heavy to carry, unless you plan to always use it Review: A book of rules, regulations and other valuable information for pilots. I personally think it is a very good book, which no pilot should be without. Of course it can be downloaded at the FAA's website for free, but nothing beats the bound version. I recommend this book to all my students.

It works like a regulations QRH !! by A Customer from Lafayette LA USA
Pros: EXCELLENT SOURCE OF REGULATORY INFORMATION Cons: ''GA'' AND ''FLIGHT CREW'' SIGNS SHOULD BE BIGGER SO CLIENTS DON'T BUY THE ONE THEY DON'T NEED Review: It is a very useful tool when you need to find something specific about regulations or aeronautical information. Regulations are organized and the AIM constitutes an excellent source of information. As a pilot you ought to have it, just check that the book you're buying has the FAR's that apply to you.
