Good Value for the beginner by william from Loganville GA USA
Pros: Quality of product and sound Cons: Ears hurt after about an hour Review: Great set of headphones for the beginner and intermediate. Learning to fly is expensive enough without having to finish off your wallet with a set of expensive headphones. Good quality and reception. The only problem: They make my ears sore after about an hour of flying. I'm only on my fourth flight with them and everything is pretty good when it's new...We will see....

Great headset for the price! by SoCal Flyer from Orange County, California
Pros: Good price, styling, & the ComfortCam adjustment Cons: Would have been nice if Telex had made the adjustment cams with tension detents so that they won't rotate on you unknowingly, but a little Scotch tape prevents that invisibly. Review: Bought this headset at the suggestion of the pilot store that I frequent & I think it's a great choice. Audio quality is great, both receiving & sidetone. The ComfortCam technology is brilliant. A three-position cam adjustment allows for an adjustable fit. I thought that the loosest setting still seemed a little tight at first, so I called Telex about it. Carolyn, in the service dept, sent me a set of smaller cams, at no charge, and now it fits perfect!

Comfortable, quiet and clear headset by Frank from Plano TX USA
Pros: Good value for the money, comfortable and relatively quiet Cons: The wires to the connectors should be more robust -- be careful because they could be easily broken. Review: My instructor recommended the Telex Eschelon 20, and I'm glad he did. The sound reduction is excellent for a passive set, the headset is comfortable and the earphone clarity is very good. Also, I understand from my instructor that the Telex customer service is excellent.

Excellent Value for Money! by Richard from CA
Pros: Inexpensive, comfortable, and not heavy Cons: None as yet Review: This is one headset that I find both comfortable, fairly light, offers great audio reception and clarity, and yet inexpensive. When compared to a more expensive top-of-the-line from the other makers, I find that the noise attenuation sufficient and not bothersome. Great value for money!

Good buy by Rob from Mesa, AZ
Pros: Comfort and Price Cons: thin wires near the mic connection Review: These headphones are great for the price. A few people I fly with had problems with their David Clark headsets putting too much pressure on their head. Then they tried mine and liked the way they fit. Of course they don't have all the bells and whistles that other headsets do, but for they price you can't go wrong with this product. I have been on a 4 hour CC and did not have any issues with the comfort.

Great inexpensive headset by IFR Archer Pilot from Gainesville, FL
Review: Our family has settled on the Telex Echelon 20 for our Piper Archer -- the kids like it much better than the others we've tried. Less headache-inducing pressure on the head. Very comfortable fit. I now have 3 of this headset. The only problem I've had was a broken wire down near the mike connector--they use fairly slim wires. They fold up nicely and I love the mike boom.

by aeonpurdue from Lafayette, IN
Pros: Full range adjustable boom with left or right orentation, very comfortable, volume control on headset, adjustable headband for custom fit Cons: None that I can think of Review: I'm a beginner pilot and the Echelon 20 was suggested to by my flight school. I am very glad I chose to purchase it. The ear cushions are very soft and comfortable while creating a firm seal to block ambient noise. The tension adjustment system works well to create a perfect fit. I definitely prefer the the fully adjustable boom compared to the jointed booms I've tried on other headsets, not to mention the boom can be rotated 180° for right or left side orientation.
This has been a great starter headset, and after a lot of research I feel it is the best option for the price.
