Know What You're Buying
by Alan from Springfield

Pros: Does what I expected.
Cons: Doesn't do what most people will expect.
Review: This product does exactly what it's supposed to do, which is extremely simple: it adapts a 0.206" aviation mic plug to a 1/8" mono audio plug. If you think that will let you plug the headset into a computer, or audio recorder, or any other receptacle that normally takes a 1/8" mic plug, you'll be disappointed. Aviation mics need "phantom power," and most consumer devices don't provide that. I bought it because I'm building an adapter box that will provide phantom power, so I knew what I was getting and got what I expected.

If you want to plug your headset directly into your computer or a similar interface and don't want to build your own power source, you need to get the powered PC adapter sold elsewhere on this site. Based on reviews of that item I decided to build my own instead.

My only complaint is that this passive component should be much cheaper than it is, but it's a question of supply and demand I suppose. Not many people need this.

Doesn't seem to work
by David from Redmond WA USA

Review: The connectors fit just fine, but when recording audio the computer doesn't receive any signals, even when yelling into the mic.

Going to futz with it a bit more, but I may have received a dud.
