Review: The T6 watch is exactly as described. I find the black face with white numerals the most visible. In the dark the large numerals and luminescence make reading the time possible. The sweep second hand, while it has a luminescent point, is pretty difficult to follow in the dark. So if you're thinking about timing your holding patterns with this watch at night, forget about it. I have not had the issue regarding zulu time reading inaccurately that another reviewer had , so it must have been an issue with that particular watch. I set zulu on the hour and can readily use the zulu hand to get the hour and the minute hand to give me the minutes after the hour. I wear reading glasses in the cockpit and the markings for the E6B, while very small, are readable in good light. However, without a direct light, the numerals are more difficult to see. I've found that by knowing the location of some of the key functions (e.g., statute miles to nautical miles) I can still use the E6B when the light is a little on the dim side. The watch has a nice heft to it and the bezel turns with a solid, well-made feel. The T6 ships with an extra large band, so do plan on taking it to a jeweler to get it fitted. The latch snaps into place (a more firmly soundly "click" would be a minor improvement) and there is a spring loaded release so you won't gradually wear down the latch mechanism. Nice touch. On the aesthetic side of things, this is a handsome instrument that screams "aviation." Great watch!

Review: Big, and I wish the second hand wasn't red, but in every other way, great! Looks amazing, second time zone hand is very useful (mine is set to Zulu), E6B bezel is smooth and accurate. Hands, numbers, and hour marks glow very bright in the dark, and it's easy and fast to set time and date.

I love this watch! by A Customer from Boston, MA
Pros: its everything I wanted it to be. Cons: there really aren't any...but if I must, its got some weight to it...heavier than I thought it would be. Review: This watch is fantastic. I love it. It's beautiful and I get compliments on it all the time.

If it is too good to be true, it is probably not true. by A Customer from Winter Park, FL
Pros: Substantial feel Cons: 24 hour hand not precise. Review: The slide rule is a very nice feature. The watch keeps accurate time. And, it looks very substantial. Hard to believe all this value for so little money. However, there is a problem. The 24 hand lags the hour hand by about the equivalent of 10 to 15 minutes. Thus, when quickly glancing at the 24 hour hand when it approaches the hour, it is easy to be an hour off. I have written to the manufacturer's warranty email address but get back a reply that it is no lonerin service. Next I wrote to the manufacture's information email address a couple of times, but still no reply. It looks like I'm stuck with it. I guess my last chance will be to see if mypilotstore can help (they might because everyting about my dealing with them has been outstanding.) If this feature worked properly, it would be a great timepiece. However, not working, it is a dissapointment.

I would definitely buy this product again by A Customer from Calhan, CO
Pros: Quality Cons: Zulu hours fine print could be larger/bolder for us older folks to read! Review: Overall ,the watch met my expectations.

Previous Customer Questions For Torgoen T6 E6B/Zulu Time Watch - Steel Bracelet, Black Face:
Ask Your Own Question
|
On Saturday, March 22, 2008 a customer asked:
Q: The battery on my Torgoen T6 stopped working. Do I need to take it to a watchmaker to be repaired or may I replace the battery on my own?
A:
We would definitely recommend taking your watch to a jeweler or watchmaker to have the battery replaced.
On Monday, March 10, 2008 a customer asked:
Q: How do you turn the bezel on the E6B computer.
A:
The rotating bezel for the flight computer is controlled by the top dial that you see. You set the time and date by pulling out the dial to two separate settings, and if you do not pull it out it will rotate the flight computer.
On Thursday, December 28, 2006 a customer asked:
Q: The battery on my T6 Torgoen watch is dead and my local jewler he could not replace it since the watch is pressurized to maintain a proper seal to stay water proof. Do you know of a watch repair I could get a new battery installed.
Dan, Atlanta, GA
A:
These watches are not pressurized. It is a good idea, though, to perform pressurized water resistance test after the replacement to make sure the gaskets are in place. Every regular jeweler knows about that and watchmakers have a special instrument to do that, but even this is not a must. Usually, if the watch maker takes care of leaving the gasket where it is, there is rarely a problem and this test is not required.
