Execellent book would purchase

  • Pros: Just what I wanted
  • Review: Very well detailed covers all phases of flight. Great resource for job interviews or home study as well.

Excellent Update

  • By Christopher from Abingdon MD USA on Monday, January 19, 2015
  • Pros:
  • Review: I recently bought this book to assist me in studying for my ATP Checkride. I have to say this updated version is excellent in its approach (no pun intended) to get up to speed on the system. I will say that you still need to have the last version of the Instrument Procedure Guide as this new update took out alot of material to condense it. Example would be in the old guide it explained in detail what Close-In-Obtacles are. This new version does but not to the degree where you understand it fully. I recommend you have both versions.

Top notch. An excellent resource for review and understanding.

  • By A Customer from Alexandria VA USA on Monday, October 06, 2008
  • Pros: A great review opportunity for those heading off for a technical interview.
  • Review: A must have for the soon to be instrument rated pilot or a great review for the long-time professional aviator. Extremely descriptive almost to the point of too much information. However, too much information is often not enough when it comes to safely operating within the National Airspace System.

  • By A Customer from Las Vegas NV USA on Friday, May 30, 2008
  • Pros:
  • Review: Review every phases of an IFR flight with the Jepps. Goes into more details than most books for Jeppesen charts. Was good for interview preperation!

  • By Jay F from Broadlands, VA on Friday, February 09, 2007
  • Pros: Very complete and on point
  • Review: Excellent review of the IFR system from ATC to the Approach. Very helpful in my preperaton for my IFR check-ride. This is for those that use Jeppessen, but very informative for those that don't as well...

Q: I am applying to regional airlines for a first officer possition, so I'm looking for the best way to learn Jeppeson approach plates quickly. I haven't found where I can just buy the approach plates like I can the NOS charts. Is this guide a good way to become familiar with Jeppeson approach plates?

A: Yes, this is an excellent guide to the Jeppesen IFR charts. If you prefer video, there is the Jeppesen Chart Training DVD and you can also buy a one-time set of charts by visiting: Jeppesen Airway Manual Express Single Issue.
