I prefer paper to tablet screens

  • By Praful from New York NY USA on Tuesday, January 21, 2014
  • Pros:
  • Review: It had all that one requires to be organized for an IFR flight. The only thing that troubled be is the quality of paper used for the enroute charts. One flight just over 80 miles, with a few un foldings and foldings, the chart had tears along the folds about an inch long. This wasn't the case a few years back, where one could tug jerkily at both ends of the chart and still not expect to see even a small tear. The paper quality was like a currency note, difficult to tear. Is Jeppesen into austerity measures?

I love paper

  • By A Customer from Philadelphia, PA USA on Tuesday, May 21, 2013
  • Pros: Forever reliable. Better to have info on a yoke clip closer to scan than having to look down on your lap.
  • Review: I believe the "paperless fad" will come full circle. I have seen it in my students who are starting to prefer paper over the ipad. Professional companies may go electronic for cost savings, but there is nothing like paper approach plates. The first thing every DE should do on a check-ride is take away the ipad. I see young pilots who can't even take a leak without being plugged into something. Time for a major electronics failure!

Jeppesen Quality

  • By Michael from Central NJ USA on Friday, March 12, 2010
  • Pros: The Limited geographic area I need.
  • Review: I'd forgotten how tedious updating Jepps can be.

Excellent but a bit costly

  • By Paul T. from Manchester Center VT USA on Tuesday, June 09, 2009
  • Pros: Time savings
  • Review: I like the product a lot even if it is costly

  • By Nichole from Palmerton, PA on Friday, November 14, 2008
  • Pros:
  • Review: Most economical way to use Jepp charts! Pick your region and your off. I only wish the regions were slightly larger or you could purchase single state trip packets. Recently took a trip to from PA to KY and PA to MI and had to use way too many regions to get there.
