Big and blue is good
by David from Westlake OH USA

Pros: Big and Blue
Cons: none
Review: I've lost a couple fuel testers in the last few months since they were clear with a black tip. I would set them on the wing next to the door while I got my tow bar to pull the plane out of the hanger. After I got the plane out, I would hop in, not seeing the tester there. It would go flying during run-up. The Jeppesen fuel tester is big with a blue tip. It doesn't blend in with the black walkway so I always see it when I get into the plane. Problem of the lost fuel tester solved!

Review: I love this fuel tester. It's been well thought of. The spill guard prevents inadvertent spills from immediately getting to my hands while the brass needle assures me that it won't bend or break during use. Fits nicely into my Brightline B4 pilot bag.

fuel still spills on my hand
by A Customer from Calabasas CA USA

Pros: Good quality
Cons: Expensive and doesn't serve its purpose
Review: This product is well-made. Fuel still spills on my hand and the bowl-shaped part doesn't fit securely onto the cylinder.

Greatest tester I've ever used
by Alex from Florida

Pros: thick, sturdy,
Cons: N/A
Review: I've had everything from the little push cups to knock-off derivatives of this design. The Jeppesen model is the top of the line model. The plastic is VERY thick and feels just like quality when you hold it. The center push pin is metal, and the detachable spill shield is INGENIOUS! The flippable screwdriver is perfect to open my fuel doors and oil access door. I would recommend this to everyone. The price is up there, but you'll NEVER need to buy another one!

Very Well Made
by PAUL from CASA GRANDE AZ USA

Pros: Very well-built.
Cons: Pin could get lost.
Review: It is as advertised. However, at the time I bought it, I was not aware of another tester called a GATS Jar. I would probably have ordered one of those instead, although it doesn't look like it would fit very well in my flight bag. I took off the funnel thing at the top. Seemed unnecessary. Also it would be nice if it had a place to store the pin. I don't have that type of drain, so I have to take the pin out and replace it every time. One of these days, I'll lose it.

by Richard from Placerville, CA
Review: This is an outstanding product. The tester is made of very heavy-duty plastic. I believe that if you drop this tester on the apron it will not crack like some cheaper versions. Also, the probe to push into the sampler valve on the aircraft's fuel tank is made of brass and continues the full length of the tester. Again, this is not likely to bend, break or fall out and get lost like some cheaper testers. If you fly regularly, and you prefer a quality product, spend a few extra buck and get a tester that you can enjoy using and will likely last for years.

Excellent product
by sples from Monterey CA USA

Pros: Excellent quality.Very practical and clear
Cons: Quite long, somewhat difficult to store in a small flight bag
Review: Excellent product. High quality materials, perfect design. Easy to use and check the fuel. Maybe a 'case' of some sort might be even more useful, especially after use. Sturdy shape, practical screwdriver head.

Better then Plastic model
by A Customer from Olcott NY USA

Pros: Durable, rod will not break
Cons: Wish rod was a little longer.
Review: A lot better then the ones with the plastic rod actuator. I don't worry about breaking the actuator. The splash guard does help with eliminating spillage, but kind of awkward to pour back into tank. The rod could be a little longer. I have a slightly recessed sump for my gascolator and I have to push up on the edge of the actuator to get fuel instead of of pushing up on the center of the sump actuator

Review: Much better than the cheapo ASA one that I had with the plastic actuator.

The handle/funnel cup thing also is great because I no longer get AVGAS on my hands doing the pre-fight.

Just what I wanted
by Steve from CT

Pros: Easy to see. Well built. Sturdy.
Cons: None.
Review: Exactly what I was looking for: an easy way to test the fuel during preflight. This unit is well built and very sturdy. The metal rod is secure and looks like it will last a long time. I'm not sure what the point of the finger hold is, but it was simple to remove so that's not a worry. I would recomended this produce to a friend.

Good construction, stalk too short
by Sigurd from Kingwood TX USA

Pros: Sturdy, good quality
Cons: stalk too short
Review: This is a nice product, sturdy and splash guard works ok. Problem on the Grumman AA5A is that the stalk does not reach far enough to test sump tanks, only the wing tank outlet.

Happy with this tester
by Kevin N7136V from Brush Prairie, WA USA

Pros: Sturdy construction is the primary differentiator.
Review: With my last tester, the plastic rod to actuate the fuel valve broke quickly. It's a bit tight crawling under the Mooney to sump the wing tanks and the sturdiness of the metal rod makes all the difference in the world. I'm very happy with this tester. Recommended.

by Michael from Upland CA USA
Pros: Durable, easy to read.
Cons: None
Review: I've owned one for several years. I needed one in two different places so I purchased this new one. It's durable, easy to read. The metal portion that's compresses the fuel petcock is strong, doesn't bend side to side.

Works... for the most part.
by Paul from Belton TX USA

Pros: Good, simple, practical design.
Cons: Auto fuel eventually makes the plastic brittle.
Review: Simple product that does it's job for the most part. You are able to get fuel samples from multiple types of sumps. It is made well and works as designed. The only problem I have with it is the auto gas I use with my plane will eventually make the plastic brittle and it will break when used with the Curtis type sumps you must twist to get your fuel sample.

As good as it says
by Clayton from San Antonio TX USA

Pros: hard, durable, functional
Cons: overkill
Review: Works great, the brass rod in the middle is way better than the plastic ones my club has. The little funnel is not all that useful, but i suppose it would do it's job if it needed it.

As good as a fuel tester can be
by Cessna Pilot from Oceanside CA USA

Pros: Durable, well built
Cons: None
Review: Good solid tester. Metal full length rod with support is solid and doesn't flex. Much better than those with plastic rods without a support. Splash guard saves a trip back to the FBO to wash the 100LL off your hands and attaches onto the side for storage.
