1142-22 Electret Mic

If you have a David Clark H10-76 or H10-76XL, you can use this microphone to swap the dynamic mic on the H10-76 with an electret mic for use in civilian aircraft. You will also need the JB-08 adapter to convert from the single U-174/U or U-93A/U plug to a two plug system (PJ-068 and PJ-055B).  Or, you can get the David Clark H10-76 Conversion Kit which includes both this microphone and the JB-08 adapter.

Well worth the money!
by Karl from Ballston Lake NY USA

Pros: Need this for GA aircraft
Cons: None
Review: I finally put my old David Clark military headset back to use. The mike installs easily and works great. One minor problem is that the two-pronged jack that goes into the mike won't insert all of the way, but it works fine anyway.

So far, so good! :)
by Dustin from Warrensburg MO USA

Pros: Very quick delivery, installed with ease on my David Clark H10 headset.
Cons: Haven't found any yet! :)
Review: I recieved the product in a very timely manner, great job on the shipping! It was as easy as 1,2...didn't even have to have a 3, and it was done and mounted....that easy. Unfortunately, i have not yet started my flight school to be able to try it out, but i am anticipating just as much luck with that as I had with the rest of this transaction. Great job, MyPilotStore! It is highly appreciated, and will definately do more business with you when i get started into this career field. Thank you very much!

Ask Your Own Question
On Thursday, May 14, 2009 a customer asked:
Q:
Did actually get some feedback about conversion of a H10-76XL with this mic. I would like to know how reliably it works. I want to use the 10-76xl on a daily basis for commercial operations and I really need to know how got that works in Helicopters, since the mic only changes the impedance of the mic but nor of the earphones.
A:

Yes, this microphone will reliably and consistently work for converting an H10-76XL headset for use in a civilian airplane.  We have been selling this microphone for years and it works great for both the H10-76 and H10-76XL headsets.

On Friday, February 22, 2008 a customer asked:
Q:
I have a David Clark H10-76 military headset and would like to use it in general aviation aircraft. I already have an adapter cord, David Clark P/N 18253G-05, if I purchace your Electret Mic P/N 1142-22 will this solve my impedence problem?
A: Yes, if you already have a Helicopter to General Aviation headset adapter, then you will just need to swap out the Dynamic Mic on the H10-76 with this Electret Mic and you should have no problem using your headset in civilian aircraft.

On Wednesday, October 10, 2007 a customer asked:
Q:
I have aquired a DC H10-76 will electric mic and JB-08 adapter. But I woule like to use this headset in civilian helicopter as well. What do I need to do?
A: You would just use it (the 1142-22 mic) without the JB-08 adapter in the helicopter.
