I would buy this product again! by Michael from Collierville TN USA
Pros: Good questions and syllabus Cons: A couple of questions on the test were not covered in the material. I answered them correctly but they were omitted from the material. Review: Great product. Read the complete package and took the test in three weeks. Passed with an 88!!

Makes The Written Easy by Terry from Encinitas (San Diego)
Pros: Know EXACTLY what to study. Cons: none - it could not be better Review: Brief chapters in the test book outline what you need to know to pass the written. Then, all the test questions - each answer explained clearly and succinctly. I went through the test book twice from cover to cover, made my own flash cards on the questions that I needed more work on after the second reading, got them down pat, took 3 sample tests from the Test CD then scored a 92.

Terrific Prep for IFR Written Exam by Ken from Nashville TN USA
Pros: Gets you prepared quickly and gets the written test over. Cons: Some of the answer explanations could be clearer-- had to read a couple of times. Review: The material is really well organized and prepares you well for the test. The practice tests in the software kit give you real looks at what to expect on the final test. By the time I got to the real test, I was relaxed and ready -- even made a real good score!!

Review: This kit includes everything you will need to pass the written test and includes a whole lot of material for the flight test at a very reasable price. If you follow the outline and maintain consistent study habits, you will pass the test!! (I just took the test today and passed with 82%) I have always been an average academic student, so this score was consistent with my retention of the material. There is a lot of material and a lot of memorization involved with IFR. The included software is great for studying and taking practice tests, however while taking the actual test I noticed 5 or 6 questions that I didn't remember seeing at all during study or they were in the book, but never in any of the 20 or so practice tests I took. I would recommend this kit to anyone.

Good study and review material by Cliff from Loganville GA USA
Pros: Outline format is very good for study points and review. Cons: Details are sometimes thin, and reasons are not always clear. Review: The kit is very good, and written in an outline form for easy study. It does well at condensing a large amount of data into memorable points. However, it does tend at times to over-simplify. I would recommend downloading the Instrument Handbook (free from the FAA website), which is EXTREMELY detailed, and use that as the primary study guide. Then, use this as a test study/refresher, so that the critical points are fresh in your mind. This combination will fill in all the gaps. After all, we want to be better pilots, not just pass the test!
The Weather book (included in this kit) provides some good information that I have not found elsewhere, and explains many weather events, complete with cloud pictures. You will not be a meteorologist after reading this, but you will have a better understanding of what causes different types of weather, and the reasons/types of hazards they present.
