P-1151C Pilot Cadet

You were only issued one set of ears. Why not protect your children's hearing too? Great for kids who fly with parents or grandparents. Pilot was first to design a headset specifically for children utilizing a smaller headband, foam ear seals, a fully flexible mic boom, and a smaller version of our SuperCushion head pad. In this day and age. Keep them entertained (and quiet) by letting them connect their music input hardware of choice - CD, IPOD, MP3, or Sony PlayStation. As the child grows bigger, you can upgrade his headset's headband to a larger size by calling the manufacturer and requesting a larger headband at no charge. The key to a good fit on a child is that the headset not hang on their head. It needs to fit properly so it is more comfortable for the child.

Features:

  • Passive Noise Reduction: (NRR) 24dB
  • Auxiliary audio interface for music - CD, IPOD, MP3 or Sony Playstation.
  • Flex "memory" microphone boom
  • Noise canceling electret microphone
  • Small Headband for Perfect Fit
  • Mini SuperCushion head pad
  • Mono/stereo capability
  • Foam ear seals
  • Individual volume control
  • Weight: 13.9 oz (389grams)
  • Warranty: Three Year Warranty

OPTIONAL:  Enable wireless streaming Bluetooth music and/or cell phone to this headset with our Bluetooth Aviation Headset Streamer.

Good for my toddler

  • By Rachel from San Francisco CA USA on Thursday, November 09, 2017
  • Pros:
  • Review: These are a little big for my 2 year old but she wears them and they protect her ears. She also wore them for the blue angles when they were in town.

Headsets Are Incorrectly Measured for Youth

  • By Judy from Florida on Thursday, December 12, 2013
  • Pros: Good ear cups and well made headset
  • Review: The length of the connector between the ear cups was incorrectly measured by the designer for children or small adults. They will correctly fit an adult head.

The reviewer who wrote that these headsets do not fit a two year old is correct. This two year old will not grow into these. I am a small, but not that small, adult woman. At the smallest/tightest adjustment, they go below my ears. They do NOT fit, and will never fit a child properly.

BUT a child or youth without experience with headsets will not know the difference, or that they do not fit. Children who have used headsets that fit will complain.

I also agree that two different colored ear cups is not attractive. I do not recommend these. I had to design a makeshift head pad in order to use these. It is ugly.

Since most children will not know the difference.I recommend you measure the distance between ear cups and buy only headsets that adjust correctly.

Pick one color or the other!

  • By Ken from Lincoln NE USA on Saturday, August 11, 2012
  • Pros: Great sound and hearing protection for the kids
  • Review: Everything about this headset was perfect. Fit our 5 year old, sounded great, the aux port worked great. The only thing I could say about this is why? Why, make a headset both blue and red? Why not make it either red OR blue as an option for us to buy?

  • By Kathleen from Weirsdale FL USA on Tuesday, August 03, 2010
  • Pros:
  • Review: Excellent! Works very well and our grandson loves it.

Never buy an off brand

  • By A Customer from Grand Rapids, MI on Tuesday, October 20, 2009
  • Pros: Looks cool, fits kids well
  • Review: Worked well and fit ok upon first initial use. The cord was VERY LOW quality, cracks and splits have been numerous in the outer casing of the cord. As soon as you repair a couple, some more show up! I will in the near future have to have a new cord wired into the headset. Very disappointed in the quality.

Kids Love them

  • By Jay from Cheyenne WY USA on Tuesday, April 14, 2009
  • Pros: Value
  • Review: I would have gladly given five stars had the headset came with a protective carrying case. Otherwise, good noise reduction, comfortable, nice value.

Returned this item

  • By V35B on Saturday, January 17, 2009
  • Pros: Flexible boom on the mic. My two year old loved wearing them even though they did not fit very well.
  • Review: Even though these headsets are sized for a 1.5-10yr old they do not fit my 2yr old at all. He still loves wearing them but the ear seals end up cupping his jaw. The head band does not adjust down small enough to get rid of the inch gap at the top of his head so the cushion can rest on top of his head. The reason for returning was not size related. I know he will grow into them. I returned them because the mic was very hard to activate with normal voice. It would only intermittently pick up the audio from it. You had to yell into it or place it almost directly in your mouth to get it to pick up.

Very good product

  • By PIERRE from REDMOND WA USA on Friday, February 15, 2008
  • Pros:
  • Review: At long last the kids have an efficent earing protection as well as a device allowing them to talk to the pilot during the flight. Adjustable volume very convenient.

  • Pros: Flexible boom on the mic. My two year old loved wearing them even though they did not fit very well.
  • Cons: Only able to intermittently hear audio spoken from the mic. Ear seals too large for small child and head band does not shrink down small enough.

Q: Is this the same product as the Pink version? I have a 2 year old son. The reviews differ between (1) didn't fit and fell down to his jaw in the reviews for the blue/red to (2) great fit for my 18 month old and 2 year old daughters in the reviews for the pink. If it doesn't fit, can we return it?

A: Yes, this is the same as the the P1151ACG pink headset. You have 30 days from the date that you receive the package to return it.

Q: Can you plug a DVD player into the auxiliary audio interface? Does the pick P-1151ACB have the same capability?

A: Yes, you should be able to plug any audio source in the audio jack without any problems.  Both the Blue/Red and the Pink versions work the same.
