WORKS WELL FOR MY NEEDS

Review: Some aviators have given this a one star review and I am puzzled! This product is advertised as a "QUICK REFERENCE MAP" and not a full-blown chart for planning cross country trips... that's why we have Sectionals and WAC charts. I use my map for getting a quick visual reference for routes I might want to further investigate on my Sectionals, and then I use the sectionals and/or my software from Seattle Avionics or Jeppesen FlightStar and go from there. I like this large map to step back and take in the "big picture" image of my next adventure in my Cessna and it is very useful when I show my wife (a non-aviator) the general route of my flights and how long it will take me to get from "point A" to "points B, C, D, E, F and final destination." This isn't one of those massive wall maps we see at FBOs with detailed airport information for all the little rural airports in Hootersville. It's a "Quick REFERENCE Map" only and serves it's purpose well for me... And now, off I go, starting my plan for a flight from Central Texas to Kennewick, Washington...

Disappointed

Review: I was very disappointed that the scale on this map is inaccurate and that several large VFR airports are missing from it. I would expect it to contain at least the airports listed on the world aeronautical maps but with less geographical detail. Also--it would be great if the scale was accurate.

A real disappointment

Cons: So little information that the map is virtually useless
Review: I purchased the map to help with planning for a flying vacation out west my wife and I are planning. There are few airport or nav aids which I expected from other reviews. I was expecting more in the way of topographical information. Lacking this as well the map is virtually useless for planning. Don't waste your money.

Review: This wall map is perfect for my office. I do alot of East coast to West coast and it's perfect to show my passengers what we will be flying over. I can also just sit around the office with other pilots and the conversation flows with stories about each city they have been to. Thumbs UP!!

nice quick reference but not sturdy enough

Review: I bought this map for a beginner pilot, and he was delighted. The large size is great, but it wasn't as sturdy as I had hoped. This could easily be fixed by laminating it on the back side as well. This would also have helped the condition in which it arrived. Although packed in a very sturdy tube, it was a bit crunched on one of the ends. Laminate on both sides would really give it a thumbs up!

Excellent Planning Tool

Review: I have often seen this Map in FBOs. I decided to buy it for myself. I work from a home office as a 9-state regional salesman for Mooney Airplane Company. I have hung this map on my wall and use it daily to get a visual reference as I plan my trips to cover the territory. The numerous waypoints and landmarks are very easy to find and increase my ability to discuss local landmarks and destination airports with my customers.

Review: Very little information. Only 6 airports shown in Nevada and 7-10 airports for most midwest states. I would look for a map with more airports. Ask for a closeup picture to judge for yourself before buying.

Review: I wanted a map with more detail. I don't know what criteria they used for selecting airports to put on the map, but they could have added 2 or 3 times more airports. It really doesn't do the GA pilot much good. There has got to be something better for the GA pilot who wants to see the whole United States on one wall.
