Genuine B-1B Lancer Bomber PlaneTag

Genuine B-1B Lancer Bomber PlaneTag

This PlaneTag is from the first B-1B production bomber ever built, Serial #82-0001 by Rockwell International. It’s maiden flight was in October 1984 at the US Air Force Plant 42 in Palmdale, CA. This supersonic four-engine strategic bomber with variable sweep wings was capable of Mach speed at low altitudes, and designed to carry twenty four B61 thermonuclear bombs. There were 100 B-1B Lancers were built between 1983 and 1988. This B-1 Bomber was disassembled at Griffiths AFB for radar testing. With current Homeland Security restrictions, we are very fortunate to add these limited PlaneTags to our collection.

This PlaneTag is from the the first B-1B Lancer built, serial number 82-0001.  It wa sassembled largely by hand and incorporated several sub-assemblies of the number 5 B-1A.  Its first flight was on October 31, 1984, Rockwell test pilot M.L. Evenson was in command, with co-pilot Lieutenant Colonel L.B. Schroeder, U.S. Air Force; Major S.A. Henry, Offensive Systems Officer; Captain D.E. Hamilton, Defensive Systems Officer.  That flight was a 3 hour 20 minute flight which ended with a landing at Edwards Air Force Base in California.  To comply with the START weapons treaty, B-1B 82-0001 was scrapped at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, in the mid-1990s.

  • Your B-1B Lancer PlaneTag was made from the first B-1B produced, serial number 82-0001.
  • Limited edition tag with only 1000 copies made
  • Each tag is individually numbered
  • Includes an attractive and strong metal loop to keep it attached
  • Back side provides space to write your name, address, and phone number
  • Can be used as a luggage tag, key ring or decorative accessory

PlaneTags are made from actual retired aircraft fuselage, not merely stamped metal. Because PlaneTags are made from real fuselage, each PlaneTag bears the color, thickness, and wear and tear from the portion of the fuselage from which it was cut and it is therefore rare to create two identical PlaneTags. These variations and imperfections are not product flaws. They are part of the beauty of PlaneTags. As a result, you will not have an option to select the color of your PlaneTag. The images on this website are provided for reference only and should not be used as the sole basis for choosing a particular PlaneTag.

SAFETY NOTICE: Not recommended for children under 8 years of age. This product contains original chemical-based paint which may cause respiratory irritation if ingested or inhaled in large quantities. Keep out of mouth.
